In order to provide the appropriate treatment, it is essential to first identify the origin of the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-quelles-sont-les-causes-possibles\">What are the possible causes?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most common causes of sleep apnea in young children is enlarged tonsils and adenoids. These glands at the back of the throat can narrow the airway when enlarged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children who are obese, have nasal allergies or were born prematurely are also more likely to have sleep apnea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-le-diagnostic\">The diagnosis<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The first person to consult if sleep apnea is suspected is your pediatrician or your child's doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The doctor collects as much information as possible about the child's sleeping habits from the child and his parents. He also analyzes any symptoms observed during the day and night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The doctor may perform a physical examination of the child's neck, mouth and throat.
