Our instructions for your baby's brake surgery to go smoothly

You have an upcoming appointment with your baby for a freinectomy (brake surgery). Dr. Agachi will give you his diagnosis and we can do the procedure in the same session if the clinical indications warrant it.

In the meantime, to ensure that the session goes as smoothly as possible and that the surgery is effective, please follow these instructions:

Fill out the medical questionnaire in advance

Consult an osteopath or chiropractor before

It is mandatory to consult an osteopath or chiropractor who specializes in infant brakes.

If you have not yet consulted such a specialist, we encourage you to do so before the procedure.

Get advice from your lactation consultant

It is recommended that you see a lactation consultant for expert advice.

Present yourself with the letter of recommendation

When you consult a specialized practitioner, don't forget to ask for a letter of recommendation with his or her diagnosis. We will need it when you visit!

In order for brake surgery to really improve your baby's life and to avoid reattachment, it is important that you do some exercises after the procedure:

Prepare Doliprane for your baby

You may administer a dose of Doliprane 30 minutes before the appointment if needed. (Weight dose in syrup or suppository.)

Wear a mask to come to the office. Upon entering, we will ask you to disinfect your hands.

Please only one companion by baby will be able to enter the office and wait in the waiting room.

The condominium does not allow us to receive you in the building with a stroller or cosy.

Whenever possible, avoid public transportation and use a sling.

We are aware that these measures can seem rather constricting. However we need your cooperation to guarantee the safety of you, your child, our other tiny patients and their parents, as well as our staff.

The current health situation forces us to change our habits, and these obligations are the only guarantees that will allow us to welcome you and your baby safely!

However, rest assured, the entire team will take care of your baby and you will only be separated for a few minutes during the procedure.

We absolutely encourage breastfeeding after surgery, but for everyone's protection, it will not be possible to breastfeed in the office :(
